The Cost of Injuries
(due to carelessness or an unsafe work environment)
This interactive infographic spotlighted how much injuries cost on a national (U.S.) level, due to carelessness or an unsafe work environment. Furthermore, because the dollar amounts are in the billions, it breaks down the numbers to give the viewer a better understanding of how much these injuries actually cost. In fact, this was the main challenge this project presented, relating the dollar amounts to real life. The infographic was created in Adobe Illustrator, and interactivity was added to it in Adobe InDesign. You can see a fully-functional version here.
The Target Audience is the Instructional Design community, safety professionals, and office workers.
The Cost of Injuries
2:00 Safety Break
This was a two-minute video spotlighting the need for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), even when working in an office. The video was created using iClone 7; avatars were designed with Character Creator. The video was composited in Adobe Premiere Pro. Voiceover by Terry Miller. This project presented two big challenges: Getting all of the necessary information into the video in just two minutes, and, of course, the animation itself. The Target Audience consists of office management and personnel, as well as the Instructional Design community.

Occupational Scavenger Hunt Activity
This is an interactive presentation for the Occupational Scavenger Hunt Activity, a fun, new way for office workers to learn how adherence to regulations from government agencies like OSHA and the EPA ensure safe working conditions. The primary audience for this presentation consists of office management and the Instructional Design community. In a project like this, the single biggest challenge is timing the information so that it comes in at the correct time; it is not uncommon to think in terms of tenths of a second to achieve proper timing. The presentation was created in Keynote. To experience the interactivity, you can download the entire presentation by clicking here.
